IHEYO resolution on sexual orientation

  • post Type / Young Humanists International
  • Date / 15 October 2007

This resolution was adopted by the IHEYO GA in 2004

Humanism is deeply rooted in a profound respect for the individual human being. Human rights give each and every person the right and opportunity to be and choose whatever she or he wants as long as other rights are not violated by her or his actions.

IHEYO holds to be self-evident that just like one cannot discriminate people on the basis of their gender, physical appearance, skin colour or religious believes one cannot discriminate people on the basis of their sexual orientation.

Proposed by Christoffer. B. Larsen
The Norwegian Humanist Association.

Approved at the GA at Kampala, 24 of May, 2004, Uganda.
