An awareness campaign by IHEU member organization British Humanist Association has raised far more funding than expected. The plan was to raise £5,500 to run 30 buses across the capital for four weeks with the slogan: “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.” In just a few days, more than £117,000 has been raised.
According to the BHA, “Donations are pouring in, as are the phone calls from newspapers, sales pitches from ad agencies, and emails from everyone who’s ever had a worldview!” More than half the number of members who join the BHA in a usual month, joined in a single day between Tuesday and Wednesday last week.
