IHEU sponsors East African Humanist Convention – 23-26 February 2009 – Kampala, Uganda

IHEU is sponsoring a conference that will bring together African Humanists from the East African Region. At least six African countries will be represented. Humanists from other continents are also planning to attend. The convention activities will include:
• Educational seminars on humanism, fund raising, organizational development, lobbying, net working etc.
• Presentations on humanist projects in AFRICA.
• Evaluating humanist progress and achievements in AFRICA since 2004.
• Visitations to humanist projects in Uganda.
• Official opening of the HUMANIST ACADEMY in Uganda.

• Official opening of the HUMANIST ACADEMY in Uganda (8.00 AM TO 12.00 NOON).
• Visit to the SIR ISAAC NEWTON HIGH SCHOOL( 2.00 PM TO 5.00 PM)

26th February 2009 (Thursday)
OPTIONAL DAY TO VISIT OTHER HUMANIST PROJECTS IN UGANDA which include:
• Paul Kurtz Center for Inquiry Library.
• Rehabilitation of Prostitutes by UHESWO.
• Empowering young girls through foot ball by WOFEWO.
• A Humanist school in Eastern Uganda.
• Empowering communities through animal husbandry by UHASSO.
