The Council of Australian Humanists (CAHS) meeting in convention, last month in Adelaide, resolved unanimously that: ‘CAHS calls on Federal and State governments to withhold support from all future sales exhibitions of armaments.’

The modern Humanist movement has since its foundation supported and lobbied for peace. We acknowledge that defence is necessary but consider that encouragement of the arms trade and the proliferation of weapons and armaments undermine the Security of all States and Nations.
