Mile stoning AHA’s activities-2010
International Humanist and Ethical Youth Orgranisation (IHEYO) is an international body mobilizing youth humanists throughout the world. It has formed continent based groups to make local humanist ideas flourishing.
It has started African and Asian working groups formally and is in process to organize European and American groups.
Asian working group is called ‘Asian Humanist Alliance, (AHA).’ It was established in 2007. The idea of the working group was furnished during IHEYO conference-2006 in Vijayawada, India. Continuous efforts of Asian young humanists made AHA in 2007. AHA has organized its two regional meetings which has drafter its action plan, mission, vision and objectives.
Luckily, Asians got an opportunity to organize IHEYO conference-2009 in Kathmandu where most of the young humanists meet and exchanged idea about strengthening AHA in future. That conference has geared-up the spirit of Asian young humanists in terms of promotion of AHA’s activities. More than two dozen young humanists from Nepal, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh joined AHA meeting.
AHA wants to make its strong and formal executive body which will give shape to organized youth humanist activism in South Asia. We will organize its meeting and do the election for its body following the IHEYO guideline.
Asian humanists are organizing a leadership training program in Nepal starting from 17th-20th of November 2010. We would like to invite interested candidates to join the leadership training program where AHA meeting will be organized too.
