All-Ireland Humanist Summer School meets on Sept. 2-4

Each summer the Humanist Association of Ireland and the Humanist Association of Northern Ireland jointly host an all-Ireland Summer School in the beautiful medieval coastal town of Carlingford, about half-way between Belfast and Dublin. The ninth summer school will meet from September 2 to 4, 2011, to explore “Humanist Morality.”

Speakers will examine such topics as situation ethics, natural morality and the ethics of war. Speakers include Irish Times columnist Roisin Ingle, as well as  Roy Brown, Richard Norman, Ben Siegle,  David McConnell and Peter Simons.  As well as talks and workshops, there are optional walks up Slieve Foye, a guided tour of the town, musical entertainment and a dinner on Saturday evening.
