The aim of the Humanist Confirmation program in Denmark is to empower young people in independent thinking and ethical actions.

This is achieved by helping them to: gain insight into their own experiences, actions and behaviour; reflect and ask critical questions; gain awareness of different points of life; think, respect, tolerate and take responsibility.

The major accomplishment of conducting Humanist Confirmations are the young people who have gone through the course, in total 85. This year, for the first time, the course was offered in two regions of the country. Next year, more than 40 youth will participate nation wide and one of Denmark’s most famous journalists and TV personalities, Anders Lund Madsen, will be the key-speaker at the Copenhagen ceremony.

The first Danish Humanist Confirmation was conducted in 2010. Volunteers do all the work behind the scenes. In the training and education of new instructors HEF in Norway has been an enormous help and the Humanistisk Samfund are truly grateful for their assistance.
