IHEYO wishes to extend its condolences to the friends and families of those killed or wounded in terrorist attacks in Paris and Beirut.
ISIS has a simple goal in its campaign of terror; to spread fear and hate. It is their goal to drive people towards extreme options and views and create a wedge between Muslims and Non-Muslims.
As Humanists we call upon our network to work together, both with each other and with people of faith. We must take a stand against those who seek to frighten and bully us into accepting their narrative of a war between Islam and the West, into accepting their irrational ideology of hate and war. In doing so we shall ensure that the dangerous ideology of groups like ISIS will never prevail and a better world can be built upon the ensuring Humanist values of critical thinking, free speech and caring for all Humankind.
