Humanists International has awarded grants to five global projects, addressing a range of initiatives from combating superstition to fostering critical thinking.
The five selected projects will each run for a year, aiming to advance humanist values and support communities across the globe. While the demand for support significantly outstripped the available funds, Humanists International expressed gratitude for the overwhelming interest.
Javan Lev Poblador, Membership Manager at Humanists International, shared his appreciation for all who applied:
“We are incredibly grateful for the dedication and vision of every applicant who participated in this year’s Grants Program. The sheer volume and quality of proposals underscore the vital work being done by humanist organizations around the world.”
The organizations awarded grants in this cycle include:
Adrián Núñez of Peruvian Association of Atheists, said:
“In a time when authoritarianism and religious interference threaten our freedoms, The Humanist Signal: Peru offers a vital space for reason, empathy, and secular resistance. Our goal is to defend democracy through critical thinking and humanist values, and we are profoundly grateful to Humanists International for the grant that helps us achieve this.”
Despite the conclusion of this grant cycle, Humanists International encourages continued engagement through other available funding avenues.
Young Humanist Grants are still open for applications in Asia, Americas, North America, and Europe. These grants are specifically designed to empower young humanists and support projects initiated by them.
Additionally, the Café Humaniste Grant, a smaller grant designed to support the organization of online or in-person gatherings, remains open year-round. This initiative fosters community and discussion within the humanist movement.

Humanists International’s ability to fund these crucial projects relies heavily on the generous support of its donors. The significant gap between the total value of applied projects (£100,000) and the allocated funding (£32,600) highlights the immense need for more resources.
Humanists International urges individuals and organizations to support its mission. Your contributions enable them to fund more vital projects around the world, especially in developing countries where humanist initiatives often face the greatest challenges and have the most profound impact. By supporting Humanists International, you directly contribute to promoting reason, compassion, and human rights globally.
As a registered charity and NGO, we rely on the donations we receive from our members and supporters to help us campaign on humanist issues, lobby for humanist values at international institutions (including the United Nations) and protect humanists at risk of persecution and violence. If you support our aims, please consider giving a one-off or regular gift today. Thank you.
