Across continents, humanists continue to stand up for freedom, equality, and human rights, often in the face of censorship, hostility, and isolation. Yet many of those doing the most vital work in their own countries simply cannot afford the cost of international travel. The Scholarship Fund exists to change that.
This year, thanks to the generosity of a committed supporter, all donations to the crowdfunder will be matched dollar for dollar up to 10,000 CAD, doubling the impact of every contribution made.
The World Humanist Congress is more than a global gathering. It is a space where humanists learn from each other, build solidarity, and turn shared values into shared action. The support provided by this fund can be life changing for those who receive it, enabling them to bring home new skills, deeper confidence, and stronger networks.
Past recipients often describe the experience as transformative. Justice Okai-Allotey from Ghana said the following:

Another scholar, Diosa Aguilo-Aguirre from the Philippines, shared the impact that travel support had on her work:

Your contribution will help:
Cover travel and accommodation for activists and educators who would otherwise be unable to attend
Strengthen a global network of humanists working for democracy, equality, and human rights
Invest in the next generation of humanist leaders
Support long term impact, as scholars bring home new skills, connections, and shared projects that continue after the Congress
The Scholarship Fund also creates opportunities for collaboration and training. Scholars participate in workshops, panels, and strategy sessions throughout the Congress, helping to build stronger humanist movements in their regions.
By donating, you are not only helping individuals. You are helping to build a more connected, inclusive, and resilient global humanist community.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who chooses to support the Scholarship Fund. Your generosity opens doors for humanists who might otherwise be isolated or unheard, allowing them to take part in conversations and activities that strengthen our shared movement.
