The Young Humanistas Network, Nigeria has launched a vociferous advocacy campaign to get the attention of world humanists in the group’s bid to assist the alleged child-witches in Akwa-Ibom State, a southern Nigerian state.
Tagged ‘HAWK’, Humanist Against WitchKilling, the project hope to advocate for strict implementation of the Child Act operative in Nigeria since 2004 so as to free over 300 children sent out of their homes and ostracized by the community on the flimsy excuse of being witches, an allegation fueled self-acclaimed Pentecostal pastors.
