This project will produce a high-quality Bahasa Malaysia translation of
Humanists International’s 2025 Freedom of Thought Report, specifically focusing on its
dedicated chapter documenting systemic religious discrimination in Malaysia. To ensure
effective distribution, Humanists Malaysia will establish a professional digital
presence—including a custom domain website and organizational email accounts—to host
and share the report. The translated document will then be digitally disseminated to
targeted stakeholders, including Members of Parliament, government agencies, NGOs,
legal bodies, and academic institutions.

Problem/Issue: Over 70% of Malaysians lack functional English literacy, making key
international human rights documentation inaccessible, while Humanists Malaysia lacks
the digital infrastructure required for institutional advocacy.
Impact: The translated report will inform at least 70 key decision-makers and civil
society leaders in their national language, provide local bodies with an advocacy tool for
parliamentary submissions, and enhance the organization’s credibility to drive long-term
membership growth.
