This project is a landmark two-day online conference bringing together
humanist organizations, activists, scholars, and individuals from across Asia to foster
regional solidarity and address shared challenges. The virtual event will feature plenary
keynote sessions, country-specific breakout discussions, an organizational capacity-building
workshop for emerging groups, and a collaborative session to draft a joint “Asian Humanist
Statement 2026”. All recorded sessions will be subtitled in English and published under a
Creative Commons license on YouTube and the organization’s website to serve as a
permanent global resource.
Problem/Issue: Asian humanist organizations are isolated and under-resourced following a
five-year gap in regional networking, leaving them to face severe pressures like apostasy
laws and theocratic governance alone.
No. of Beneficiaries: 1,100
Impact: The conference will bring together over 110 registered participants from
7+ countries, establish joint collaborations among 8 regional organizations, reach 1,100
video viewers, and produce the “Asian Humanist Statement 2026” for ongoing human
rights advocacy.
