LEAD-HU is a 12-month youth leadership and ethical development
initiative designed for secondary school and university students in the Mbarara district of
South Western Uganda. The project will conduct structured training workshops and
distribute 150 detailed training toolkits covering ethical reasoning, empathy in leadership,
and non-violent conflict resolution. Additionally, it will establish monthly student-led peer
dialogue circles across four participating educational institutions to analyze governance
and belief diversity.

Problem/Issue: Educational institutions in Uganda rely on hierarchical, authoritarian
leadership structures that suppress critical inquiry and treat independent questioning as
indiscipline.

No. of Beneficiaries: 200

Impact: The initiative will train 200 student leaders in ethical reasoning, form four
active peer dialogue circles, and reach over 5,000 indirect student beneficiaries to establish
a sustainable, non-violent youth leadership model.
