In many societies there is a lack of knowledge and understanding of these humanist ceremonies even among humanists. And one of such places is Nigeria. As Africa’s most populous nation with a growing movement of humanists, atheists and freethinkers, it is important to improve the knowledge and understanding of humanist celebrations and to grow the capacity of the humanist movement to conduct and deliver humanist ceremonies.
The project aims to inform the Nigerian public about humanist ceremonies, that there is an alternative to religious celebration of naming marriage and funerals. And to improve knowledge and understanding of humanist ceremonies among humanists and train humanist celebrants.
