The Global Humanist Repository (originally titled “The Global Humanist: A Comprehensive Digital Repository”) is a digital humanism project developed by the Humanist Association of Ghana (HAG). Led by Assistant Communications Officer Thaddeus Twumasi and a team of seven staff members, the project aims to bridge the digital divide by centralizing a wide range of humanist literature and multimedia content. The repository serves as a unified online library featuring news articles, blogs, videos, and academic resources to support educators, activists, and researchers globally.
Problem/Issue:
The project addresses the critical lack of a unified, accessible platform for humanist resources, which are currently scattered across various platforms and often inaccessible to individuals in developing countries.
No. of beneficiaries: 10,000
Impact:
The project has been rated as very successful, achieving its primary objective of launching a live, accessible global platform. Users have described the repository as an “invaluable resource” and a “living map of global humanist thought” that represents perspectives from regions rarely seen in mainstream discourse. Beyond acting as a digital archive, the project promotes critical thinking and secular ethics by providing free, high-quality educational materials to a diverse global audience.
