Fundamental freedoms in Eastern European countries

The International Humanist & Ethical Union

Calls upon these countries to recognise that if they aspire to membership of the European Community, they must observe the fundamental freedoms which are central to it, and that they should not be accepted into the Community unless they adhere to, and observe, the European Convention of Human Rights.
