The Fundraising and Communications Officer is a vital member of the Membership and Development team, responsible for engaging and communicating with Humanists International’s members and the wider public, with a strong focus on fundraising. This role involves developing and implementing communication and fundraising strategies, managing social media channels, creating compelling content, and utilizing AI tools to optimize outreach and fundraising effectiveness, particularly in engaging standard value supporters.

Humanists International is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team as its European Advocacy & Research Officer / European Policy Forum Coordinator.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating Humanists International’s European Policy Forum, which is a self-funded project made up of a group of 23 European Member and Associate organizations who work together to strengthen human rights advocacy within their countries and in Europe more broadly via the forum, including at the European Union institutions and Council of Europe. The aim of the Forum is for its member organizations to collectively help inform advocacy goals and to share good practice and work on common campaigns. As part of their work with the Forum, the successful candidate will also advocate at European Institutions on some of the priority issues of the Forum members with a current emphasis on: freedom of religion or belief; promoting democracy and Civil Society participation; non-discrimination against humanists and the non-religious and other minorities; and highlighting humanists at risk. They will also facilitate, where possible, members speaking and engaging at the European level,
In addition to this work, the successful candidate will dedicate one day a week to researching and writing entries for Humanists International’s Freedom of Thought Report.

Humanists International is dedicated to building the worldwide humanist community, to networking our Member Organizations together, and to advancing our policy agenda at the international and regional levels.
We have a small staff team managing key work areas and coordinating activities between national and local Member Organizations, and we are very grateful to the various volunteers who contribute to our work.
Some of our volunteer opportunities can be worked remotely (online) from anywhere in the world. No previous experience in the organized humanist movement is necessary.
The Freedom of Thought Report surveys discrimination against the non-religious around the world. You can read about the project and discover the entire Online Edition on the dedicated website at fot.humanists.international.
A team of researcher volunteers works with us to help keep the report up-to-date. Some skills and experience in writing, research, or policy work would be beneficial. Volunteers for this project can work remotely from anywhere in the world. Some use of email and online documents will be required.

We are looking for people to help us translate our material and stories. We are looking for individuals who can translate from English into other UN languages.
We are also producing development materials and resource packs for new groups, and we want these also to be translated. We are committed to translating some of our historic resolutions into many languages.
